My Father’s Rebirth
There were days,I believe it must be in the year 1989, when my grandfather aged 67 died because of Stomach pain, people said it was ulcer,in present days our medical team at home strongly says it must be cancer. Precisely no clue what was the real cause. I was a toddler by then, so I dint know the pain of his loss.
In 2003, I have lost my Nandha Chithappa (Uncle), my world. He got liver cirrhosis at his age 35. Treatment was very expensive and we were not aware of health insurance by that time. I do not even know whether health insurance exist at that time. Whatever we had we paid it in hospital. We were left with nothing in hands,yet with hopes in heart to bring him back home. That was indeed a turbulence for the entire family. Later we all realized that his end was near and we have lost a lovable soul. I couldn’t withstand and continues even now.
Just before COVID in 2019, My father aged 63 got admitted in hospital for a heart disease. Ofcourse, there was a Medical Insurance in his organisation with so many clauses and limitations. While admitting, operation cost was estimated as Rs 5.5 lakhs and later it was revised to Rs 8.5 lakhs. We didn’t have time to think; to go to other hospitals or to consult other Doctors for opinion.

Well, we have managed somehow and he is blessed with another 10 years to live his life happily.
Why should we lose our loved ones, when something is there for us to guard them???
Take a Medical insurance when you are HEALTHY.
Have a separate Medical Insurance for yourself and your family.
Check the adequacy of Medical Insurance and enhance it when required.
On no occasion allow your SAVINGS to be eaten away for Medicals EXPENSES!
